El Cubri is the pseudonym used by the artist collective formed by the scriptwriter Felipe Hernández Cava (Madrid, 1953) and the illustrators Pedro Arjona (1949) and Saturio Alonso (1954). In 1970 Alonso and Hernández Cava began to collaborate in the cinematographic magazine Fotogramas, using the name El Cubri for the first time due to their admiration for the film director Stanley Kubrick. The pair of collaborators were soon joined by Arjona, and, from that moment onwards, the group began to focus on collaborating with different media outlets on political issues and creating literary-style comic scripts with realistic dialogue and drawings with an artful sense of light. In 1979 they created the comic character Peter Parovic, who first appeared in Diario 16 and later starred in several of their stories published in 1982 and 1983.

Archivo Lafuente boasts over 2,000 documents by El Cubri, including printing proofs, leaflets, photographs, printed matter, copies of publications in which their work appeared (El cocodrilo Leopoldo, El Búho, Cul de Sac, Por favor, Alternativas, Vallecas nuestro, En lucha, Ozono, etc.) and hundreds of original works, many created by the group throughout their career for some of the aforementioned publications and for newspapers and magazines such as El País and Cambio 16. The collection also holds original copies of some of the stories starring Peter Parovic.
