Eduardo Kac (Rio de Janeiro, 1962) is a Brazilian artist known at present for his Bio Art project, which he began in the nineties, although he also made forays into the world of poetry and performance prior to this.
From this period, in the eighties, Archivo Lafuente holds poems, photographs and videos, as well as artist books, magazines, posters and ephemeral material from when Kac was part of O Movimento de Arte Pornô, a transgressive art experience that, against the backdrop of Brazil in the late eighties under the military dictatorship, used pornography as a means of creative expression and a form of political resistance, rejecting erotica (accepted by the dictatorship) and subverting it through humour, scatology, poetry and performance.
